UPDATED 12/07/2025 8:00am: Nissan Australia announced this month it was slashing prices across its X-Trail lineup by up to $3000. This article, first published on September 5, 2024, has been updated to reflect those price reductions, which don’t correspond with any specification changes.
The Nissan X-Trail entered model year 2025 (MY25) with minor equipment upgrades for no extra cost.
Nissan has largely left the fourth-generation X-Trail unchanged since it arrived in Australia throughout 2022, and its prices remained fairly steady.
Now, from July 1, 2025, X-Trail prices have been cut, with reductions of between $1000 and $3000 in list prices.
The X-Trail received various specification changes for MY25, with deliveries of these vehicles commencing in September 2024.

The base X-Trail ST received approach unlocking and walkaway locking, its only new feature.
Higher-spec X-Trail STs benefited from more comprehensive upgrades, including a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless smartphone mirroring and charging, plus satellite navigation.
These features were previously reserved for the rugged-looking N-Trek and better-equipped Ti, the latter of which gained a hands-free power tailgate from the range-topping Ti-L for MY25.
Nissan’s flagship X-Trail Ti-L only received the upgraded proximity entry and wireless Android Auto for MY25.
The equipment upgrades come as Nissan tries to move its way up the sales charts among the ultra-competitive mid-size SUV market, which is dominated by the Toyota RAV4 – though its rivals also include the Mitsubishi Outlander, Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson.
Nissan Australia has confirmed the 2025 X-Trail is arriving in showrooms this month.

Drivetrains
While the standard petrol-powered X-Trail is fitted with a conventional drivetrain, the e-Power is slightly more complex.
Its petrol engine is mated to a motor-generator and an inverter, which is used to charge the lithium-ion battery pack that feeds the electric drive motors.

Servicing and warranty
Nissan introduced a 10-year, 300,000km warranty earlier this year, replacing its old five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
This is contingent on you servicing your vehicle through Nissan’s dealer network, otherwise it drops back to the previous coverage.
Nissan also simplified service pricing from January 1, 2025. All X-Trails feature five years of capped-price servicing, with each visit priced at $399.
Each variant requires servicing every 12 months or 10,000km (whichever comes first).
Nissan also offers a range of two-, three-, four- and five-year service packs.
Safety
The Nissan X-Trail was awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on crash testing of the related Qashqai in 2021. The rating covers all models, including petrol and hybrid variants.
The X-Trail scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 90 per cent for child occupant protection, 74 per cent for vulnerable road user, and 97 per cent for safety assist.
