At the start of this month, we teased you with news that this is the week we’d been launching our pre-orders of DAN DA DAN Season 1 on Blu-ray, and that more details would follow soon. To be quite honest we’ve left you waiting long enough, so today is the day we’re going to sit down and talk you through what to expect from one of our most exciting releases of the year.
Pre-orders open on Thursday 25th September at 5PM UK time, with all of our Blu-ray editions arriving in retail on Monday 17th November 2025, so make some notes in your diary!

DAN DA DAN Season 1 Collector’s Edition
Let’s start with the part you’re really here for, what does our Collector’s Edition release of this Science SARU megahit look like?
Well, that question is actually a little more complicated – because we do love to spoil you, we’ve actually designed not one but two different Collector’s Edition packages for you! As fans of the show, the starting point for our design principle for this title was quite simple – and to be quite honest, it’ll hopefully answer a raging debate in the Anime Limited office…
Are you Team Alien or Team Yokai?
DAN DA DAN Season 1 Collector’s Edition – AllTheAnime.com exclusive Alien Edition
If you’re a visitor to our AllTheAnime.com store, then you’ll be able to purchase our exclusive Alien Edition of DAN DA DAN Season 1 that won’t be available anywhere else!
For this edition of the release, you’ll find the artwork of our slipcase adorned with Momo, Turbo Granny and Seiko, courtesy of some striking imagery in keeping with the show’s iconic opening credits as part of our eye-catching packaging.
There’s more than meets the eye here too, as this slipcase uses glow in the dark materials to… well, glow in the dark, adding a suitably extra-terrestrial glow to this part of the package. We’re working on some additional imagery to show this off, but rest-assured this release is going to look out of this world compared to the rest of your collection!
To hide these powers, this release also comes with a simple yet effective (and protective) O-card over it, which you can see below.
Of course, we all know that what’s on the outside is one thing, but it’s what’s on the inside that really matters, and you can rest assured you won’t be disappointed there either.
Within that glow in the dark slipcase, you’ll find an Amaray case containing the complete first season (episodes 1-12 of the series) across two suitably-adorned Blu-ray discs. We’ve also packed in plenty of bonus features here, including trailers, clean opening and ending credits, an interview with the series creators, director scene breakdown, commemorative interviews, and an interview with the series’ music composer Kensuke Ushio.
We haven’t skimped on physical extras either, starting out with an A3 reversible key artwork poster, as well as a fun sticker sheet to do as you please with! (Please use stickers responsibly, though…)
To round off this stunning package, we of course have a 32-page booklet for the series – this booklet features character artwork; a “staff dialogue” discussion between series director Fuga Yamashiro and original creator Yukinobu Tatsu; a conversation between the show’s colour designer, art director and compositing director on the show’s visuals and their creation; a whole host of production visuals from layouts through to key animation, and a gallery of key visuals. In short, if there’s anything you’d like to know about the creation of your current favourite anime, you’ll find it right here!
DAN DA DAN Season 1 Collector’s Edition – Yokai Edition
Okay, so you’re more of a yokai person, am I right? Well we have an edition for you too – this Yokai Edition will be available across all good retailers (including our own online store), so pre-order your copy wherever you prefer to purchase your anime!
Of course, our cover stars for this edition are Okarun and Aira, with a side-order of Jin, again taking that iconic opening animation as our inspiration. Just like the alien edition, this slipcase also features a glow in the dark finish to accentuate its cool vibes, and just like the other edition it features the same rigid slipcase.
Of course, all of the internal contents are exactly the same as well, so you’re still getting the same great booklet, stickers and poster, and of course the entire first season on Blu-ray!
DAN DA DAN Season 1 Standard Edition – HMV Exclusive Edition
If you’re looking for a Standard Edition, then you might want to be teleported over to HMV, as they’ll be offering up an exclusive version of our Standard Edition Blu-ray package at their stores and web site – look out for this exclusive edition, which you can see below!
Needless to say, the HMV sticker is removable, leaving you with an extremely eye-catching addition to your shelf!
