A Star Brighter Than the Sun anime coming to Amazon Prime Video

Fans of romantic school stories are in for a treat as A Star Brighter Than the Sun (Taiyō Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi) anime prepares for its global streaming debut. Based on Kazune Kawahara’s beloved manga, the anime will premiere on TBS in Japan on October 2, followed by worldwide streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting October 3.

Cast and Staff

The anime features a talented cast:

Character designs are handled by Jin Feng Zeng, while Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai compose the music.

The series’ opening theme, “Stellar Days,” is performed by Motohiro Hata, and the ending theme, “Saishin-wa” (Latest Episode), is by Wanuka.

Story Overview

Sae and Kōki have been childhood friends, but as they enter high school, Sae realises her feelings for Kōki have grown. However, she isn’t the only girl interested in him. Amidst the ups and downs of teenage emotions, Sae must navigate friendship, love, and self-discovery to understand where her heart truly lies.

Manga Background

Kazune Kawahara, known for My Love Story!!, High School Debut and Aozora Yell launched the manga in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine in June 2021. The series has 12 volumes as of August 25, 2025, and continues to capture fans with its heartfelt storytelling and charming illustrations.
