LiSA Brings Down The House At Terminal 5

Note: LiSA performed at Terminal 5 on June 19, 2025.

Before discussing the concert, I need to talk about the walk to the concert. Terminal 5 is located on 56th Street, on the western edge of Manhattan. No matter where you’re coming from, you’re going to have to walk. As I was walking there, I started to notice other people who were clearly going to the same destination. It’s not so much a look as it is a vibe. Good start.

I double-checked the rules for the concert before the show. We were allowed to record on our phones. If we were using professional cameras, we had to stop after three songs. It is in this context that I am going to share some links to songs from the event.

LiSA has no shortage of hits from the anime world. She performed Gurenge (from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), ADAMAS (from Sword Art Online), Crossing Field (from Sword Art Online), Unlasting (from Sword Art Online), REALiZE (from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Best Day, Best Way, and many other classics from her catalog.

Terminal 5 was packed. I got the sense LiSA could easily have filled a larger venue, and have no doubt that her trip to The Pepsi Center in Mexico City is going to be wild.

As someone who grew up in the VHS era, it’s still amazing to me that I’m able to see the artists who record the opening and closing songs to major anime tours live in America. It’s something that will never get old for me. Kids growing up today watch anime on their phones. It’s different in a way that I’ll never be able to fully articulate.

The concert was tremendous. LiSA clearly had a lot of fun recording the crowd and chatting with them in English. On the second night she explained that this was her second tour to New York. The first was last night.

Before the show, we were treated to an animation of a cat walking to a rocketship and eventually making its way into space. Good kitty, explore the universe!

My one quibble with the evening is that it took place in two parts. LiSA performed for ninety minutes, then took a break for a costume change. It was a long enough time that I feel like the audience could have treated us to a video with some music. Anything, really, just to keep the audience entertained and make it clear that the show wasn’t over. It was an oddly long time to just wait and listen to the crowd chant, “Encore, encore!”

If you have a chance to see LiSA live, I highly recommend it. The performance rocked, and the vibes were immaculate
