The anime film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle has set new box office records in India following its release, becoming the highest-grossing anime film in the country’s history. This report tracks the day-wise box office performance of the film.
The movie, a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Releasing International, was released on Sept. 12, 2025. It received the widest-ever release for an anime film in India, initially opening in over 750 screens before expanding to more than 1900 screens to meet demand.
The film was released in Japanese, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English. The release extended to nearly 600 cities, including approximately 480 cities that had not previously had a theatrical anime release. This included single-screen cinemas in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Day 5 Box Office Collection India (Tuesday)
On its fifth day, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle collected an estimated ₹4 crore to ₹5 crore nett. This is certainly an increase over Day 4 collection, which is a positive sign.
Also, with these earnings, the film’s total collections moved past the lifetime earnings of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (approximately ₹46 crore nett), making it the highest-grossing international animated film in India.
It is now the second highest-grossing animated film overall in the country, trailing the domestic production Mahavatar Narsimha, which has earned over ₹250 crore.
Day 4 Collection (Monday)
On its fourth day, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned an estimated ₹3.9 crore nett, according to Sacnik. This represented a drop of 71.84% from its opening day figures, a trend often observed for films on the first weekday following a major opening weekend.
However, observers are still calling it a strong collection for an anime movie, with estimates placing the first week collection to reach over ₹65 crores.
Day 3 Collection (Sunday)
The film collected ₹13.63 crore nett (₹16.55 crore gross) on its first Sunday, according to the official numbers provided. The opening weekend total reached ₹38.93 crore nett (₹47.45 crore gross).
This three-day collection established a new record for the highest opening weekend for an anime or animation film in India. It also became the second-highest opening weekend for any international film released in the country in 2025, coming behind Conjuring 4, which earned around ₹50 crores nett opening.
The weekend earnings surpassed the opening weekend collections of other 2025 releases such as Baaghi 4 (₹31 crore) which released on Sep 5, 2025.
Day 2 Collection (Saturday)
On its second day, the film earned ₹13.05 crore nett (₹15.95 crore gross). The cumulative collection after two days was ₹25.3 crore nett, which exceeded the entire opening weekend collections of films like Jaat.
Day 1 Collection (Friday)
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle opened on Sept. 12, 2025, with a collection of ₹12.25 crore nett (₹14.95 crore gross). With its first-day earnings alone, the film surpassed the lifetime box office collections of every other anime film previously released in India, making it the highest-grossing anime film in the country on its opening day.
This was in no way surprising given how strong the pre-sales were. When tickets became available on Sep 5 for premium formats, approximately 60,000 tickets were sold within the first 24 hours.
Advance sales had crossed ₹5 crore within three days. Presales had surpassed 600,000 tickets on BookMyShow app alone, with total advance ticket sales estimated to be around 2 million.
