4 March 2025: American exceptionalism comes to Dr. Stone

Xeno

That is a terrible way to store glass jars in a seismically active area.

I don’t have any way of covering Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE (the fourth season of Dr. Stone) without including at least some spoilers, so avert your eyes or something if you’re not fully caught up with the anime. At a minimum, you should already know that Senku and his band have crossed the Pacific Ocean and reached what used to be known as America, land of the greatest natural resource of all time: Corn.

Stan

Relax, he’s not smoking the corn. It’s tobacco.

That’s probably overstating it a bit, but the inherent power of corn and corn accessories is treated as hugely important, particularly given its value to a rival science faction that appears to have revived at nearly the same time as Senku’s group. This strikes me as an incredible coincidence, but it does provide an effective way to clearly contrast how much more an adult scientist with access to corn is able to achieve compared to even a super genius such as Senku.
