3 December 2024: Pitohui is carrying Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II
Sure are a lot of shrimpy characters in this show.
Among the various sequels I’ve been following during the Autumn 2024 anime season is Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II. It’s mostly fine, although the early episodes were not especially captivating because they basically showed our characters going through a battle royale that I didn’t have a reason to care about. Without anything more at stake, it was just a bunch of video game gun battles with mooks I did not know. I like the original cast all right, but not enough to hang on their every action.
Are you sure you don’t like murder games, Karen?
In fact, I sort of wish GGO II featured more scenes with Karen instead of her video game avatar, LLENN. Thankfully, Pitohui being sort of insane made the midpoint episodes a lot more interesting than the early ones, but I’m unsure that will remain the case for the rest of the season. I hope Pitohui will continue to unnecessarily complicate things for everyone around her. Psycho chicks are the best.
