18 February 2025: Somehow, Re:Zero returned

Subaru and Emilia

Don’t worry, Subaru is not saying anything lewd to Emilia.

Because of the breaks between episode blocks and my own waning interest in the franchise, I’ve basically lost sight of where the instant arc of Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 3rd Season (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3) fits in the grand scheme of things. The current batch of episodes resumed in February 2025 after taking 10 weeks off and immediately launched into multiple fights against impossibly strong opponents. It’s probably pretty awesome if you enjoy that sort of thing.

Anastasia

I like your flashlight.

Not that I don’t enjoy it, but it’s not the sort of anime I gravitate towards. I also can’t help but remember I dropped Re:Zero right from the beginning (multiple times, I think) before finally getting far enough into it on a subsequent attempt to watch the series that I encountered parts I enjoyed. There have, in fact, been some good episodes of Re:Zero that I liked a lot, so I’m sticking around in hopes that the series will return to those sorts of beats. Then again, it seems the books are still ongoing, and I don’t even know how far the 60-plus-episode anime has gotten. How do I know this isn’t going to be one of those shows that never ends?
