How are you feeling, Sakiko? Good?
There sure are a lot of sequels every anime season these days, but at least there are plenty of good ones. On top is BanG Dream! Ave Mujica (Ave Mujica – The Die Is Cast –), the spin-off/sequel to BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!, a 2023 show that exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin. I probably could tell you about Ave Mujica without spoiling It’s MyGO!!!!!, but those of you who haven’t watched It’s MyGO!!!!! should definitely watch that first. And those of you who have watched it don’t need me to tee up Ave Mujica for you because you’re probably also stoked about it. This is gonna rule.
I’m pretty sure it would be a spoiler to show you what Senku is looking at.
When I first learned about Dr. STONE five years ago, I never imagined I’d watch so much of it. (I believe the upcoming fourth anime season will finish adapting the full 27-volume manga.) I mean, it looks sort of goofy, and while the premise seemed interesting, it wasn’t something I thought I’d be guaranteed to enjoy. But, it turns out it’s good, and I’m looking forward to watching the rest of it. (There sure are a mess of spoilers in the trailer, though.)
What’s in the basket? Is it poison?
I started reading the light novels after the first season of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries), so I don’t expect the upcoming second season to contain many surprises for me. Nevertheless, I’m still looking forward to seeing the adaptation. I’ve also stopped reading the books, even though the anime probably won’t catch up to where I left off unless there’s a third season. I generally believe watching an adaptation first before reading the original source material is the better way to maximize one’s enjoyment of both. (Some people insist it ought to be the other way around, but those people are wrong.)
You could use a bigger hat, but A+ for the monocle.
As with the Yes! Pretty Cure 5 sequel Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Precure ’23~ (Power of Hope ~Precure Full Bloom~) before it, Mahoutsukai Precure!! MIRAI DAYS is the sequel to Mahoutsukai Precure! (Mahou Girls Precure! or Witchy Pretty Cure!) catching up with its original characters as adults now. Otona Pretty Cure had a lot of good stuff I liked, but made some errors I felt were avoidable. Anyway, despite featuring a lot of individual elements I really liked, Mahou Tsukai Precure! is not among my favorites of the franchise. However, I do like what I’ve seen so far of the MIRAI DAYS promotional materials. Who knows, perhaps I’ll like this sequel more than the original?
