Netflix has officially announced that the highly anticipated second season of its One Piece live-action series, titled Into the Grand Line, will premiere worldwide on March 10, 2026. Alongside the release date, the streamer also revealed the first look at Drum Island, one of the key locations featured in the upcoming season.
Season 2 will continue the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew as they finally set sail on the Grand Line. The new episodes will cover major story arcs from One Piece, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island, leading up to the events of the Alabasta Kingdom.
Netflix’s newly released images offer a glimpse of the snowy landscape of Drum Island, a kingdom renowned for its skilled doctors and perpetual winter.
In an exclusive feature with Netflix’s Tudum, co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Joe Tracz offered a glimpse into the creative process behind bringing Drum Island to life.
“Drum Kingdom is a winter island. It’s our medieval Winterfell Game of Thrones location, where you have this haunted-seeming castle at the top of a snowy mountain inhabited by someone the villagers say is a witch,” he explained.
Although the series was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, Tracz explained that the production team had to creatively simulate the island’s icy environment. “We brought in piles and piles of fake snow,” he said. “It tricks your brain. You’d get to set and feel like you should be cold, even though it was summer, because of all the fake snow everywhere.”

The upcoming season promises to “unleash fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet,” with Tracz teasing that “everything gets bigger” in Season 2. “We are going to see giants and dinosaurs. We end up in the belly of a whale. Basically, our mantra for Season 2 is, ‘scale it all up,’” he said.
He also emphasized that each island in the Grand Line will challenge a member of the Straw Hat crew, testing their resolve and pushing them closer to their dreams.
