Together in conversation and action

By Kat Everton on September 26, 2025

Every year, we bring our people together for Spirit-fest – a day dedicated to learning, collaboration and celebrating what makes Spirit unique. It’s our chance to step back from the day-to-day, reflect on progress, tackle big questions and strengthen the connections that fuel our mission of making health easy.

This year’s Spirit-fest was one of our best yet – and the feedback proves it. With a perfect score of five thumbs up across the board, we showed what happens when brilliant people and bold ideas come together. Everest climbed. Strategy sharpened. Bowling champ crowned.

The day opened with The Big Solve – a chance for cross-divisional teams to dig into some of the most pressing challenges facing healthcare and our business, from patient engagement to continuous improvement.

What stood out was how quickly diverse perspectives came together to spark actionable solutions – from small 1% improvements to bold, out-of-the-box ideas. The energy was clear: the challenges we face are best tackled together and collaboration drives faster, stronger answers.

“It was great to hear new ideas and be reminded of how valuable everyone’s input is.” – Danielle Limmage, Business Development Manager

“The business challenge exercise showed how reaching beyond your own team brings fresh insight and stronger ideas.” – Jessica Stewart, Operations Manager

The day also made time to brainstorm creative ways to support the Spirit Health Foundation in its mission to prevent needless deaths of mothers and newborns in underserved communities. Our creativity and passion came through loud and clear – from bake sales to bold sponsorship ideas – proving that innovation doesn’t stop at the office door.

Of course, no Spirit-fest would be complete without a celebration of our people. We paused to shine a light on colleagues living our values every day – Brilliance in the quality of their work, Vigour in their energy and determination and Family in the way they support those around them.

Huge congratulations again to Cherisse Hill, Head of Finance, Paulina Saproniene, People Advisor & Data Lead and Duncan Richardson, Head of Service Delivery for showing what those values look like in action. And in true Spirit style, we wrapped things up with shuffleboard, darts and some fierce bowling battles, with Bruce Adams, Managing Director, crowned champ.

“My biggest takeaway is that looking ahead is just as important as looking back. Reflection matters, but real progress comes when we balance celebrating achievements with tackling the challenges in front of us.” – Mia Haines, Marketing Manager

From strategy to fundraising, from problem-solving to shuffleboard, Spirit-fest 2025 had it all. It reminded us why we’re stronger together and why working at Spirit is something special.
