Last Friday, the 47th American said that intense discussions were underway on Gaza with Middle Eastern countries that both Israel and Palestine sides were aware of. He also said that those talks would continue for as long as needed. 

Trump is set to meet the Israeli PM at the White House on September 29.

Last week, at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the US revealed an elaborate, 21-point plan to establish peace in the Middle East where war between Israel and Hamas is completing its second year.

The Trump 2.0 administration’s peace plan for the Middle East proposes the return of all hostages and an Israeli ceasefire on Qatar along with a fresh round of talks between Israel and Palestine for a mutually agreeable and peaceful coexistence, according to foreign media reports. 

The Trump 2.0 administration has for long claimed credit for resolving conflicts to establish peace or to avoid major wars on several occasions. Most of these claims are disputed or still in negotiation.
